About
508 Creative Academy: Filmmaking Camp Lights. Camera. Create. Have you ever dreamed of making your own movie, music video, or videos? At 508 Creative Academy’s Filmmaking Camp, students don’t just learn about filmmaking—they become filmmakers. Over six exciting Saturday sessions, students will work together to write, film, edit, and premiere their own short film while learning from a professional filmmaker in a fun, supportive, and hands-on environment. Whether your child is interested in movies, YouTube, photography, acting, or simply enjoys being creative, this camp is designed to build confidence, encourage teamwork, and develop real-world creative and communication skills. No experience is required—just curiosity, creativity, and a willingness to learn. What Students Will Learn Students will gain hands-on experience in every stage of the filmmaking process, including: * Storytelling and script development * Camera operation and cinematography * Lighting techniques * Professional audio recording * Directing and working as a production team * Video editing * Color correction and finishing * Film presentation and premiere preparation ⸻ What Makes This Camp Different? This isn’t a lecture or a screen-time class. Students will use professional cameras, microphones, tripods, lighting, and filmmaking equipment while working together as a real production crew. Throughout the program, they’ll build creativity, communication, leadership, problem-solving, and collaboration skills that extend far beyond filmmaking. The experience concludes with a special premiere where students showcase their completed short film for family and friends.
